The Art Institute of Chicago offers a variety of programs for teen audiences. Some earn academic course credit through Chicago Public Schools. Others meet after school and on weekends. Summer programs focus on studio projects inspired by the museum's collection. All are designed to connect teens who have an interest in art with the museum, with working artists, and with museum professionals. Get involved with the Art Institute by participating in one of these programs, enrolling in a summer course for high-schoolers at the School of the Art Institute, becoming a member, getting an internship, or dropping in for a free program.

Teen Studio
Selected Thursdays and Fridays: 6/25, 6/26, 7/23, 7/24, 8/20, 8/21
Drop in between 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Designed Identities
Design a self-portrait using digital photography and other art materials, then make your design into a wearable button in this program specifically for teens. This drop-in workshop takes place during Target Free Thursday Evenings and Free Summer Evenings.

Animated Art: Teen Studio Workshop
Selected Saturdays: 6/20, 7/25, 8/15
10:30–4:30 (including lunch break)

Visit the galleries for inspiration to create your own animated short using technology and traditional art materials. Learn about a variety of animation techniques in this in-depth studio workshop.
