The Art Institute of Chicago
Employment

If you've ever thought of joining the dedicated staff of our world-famous museum or school, please continue to explore this site for current job listings.

Afraid you won't qualify for any positions without an art history background? Consider this: The Art Institute of Chicago and the School of the Art Institute employ hundreds of people, many with little or no museum experience. How is this possible?

It takes many diverse people with a wide range of skills and interests to successfully run the Art Institute of Chicago. Millions of people visit us every year, and while there is certainly a number of scholarly, art-related positions, many of our available jobs involve some aspect of the museum's daily operations. For example, we offer jobs opportunities in library science, accounting, human resources, marketing, fundraising, facilities management, information systems, and other highly technical areas. Additionally, we hire salespeople, safety and security professionals, and visitor services assistants, just to name a few. Below is a more complete listing of available positions, both professional and support level. This site will be updated every Tuesday, so please check back regularly for new opportunities.

Thank you for your interest in the Art Institute of Chicago and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
