Program Descriptions

Family Programs Explore the great variety of our programs through the links provided, or visit our Family Calendar to find programs for the day of your visit.

  • All family programs are free with museum admission.
  • Selected programs require advanced registration.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Programs meet in the Kraft Education Center, on the lower level next to the Grand Staircase, unless otherwise noted.

If you would like to receive a monthly calendar, e-mail familyprograms@artic.edu with your name and mailing address. Calendars are mailed every two months.


The Artist's Studio
(All ages)
This drop-in program features activities inspired by the museum’s collection and special exhibitions.

Drawing in the Galleries
(Ages 6 and up)
Explore the basic elements and styles of art through drawing activities inspired by works of art in the museum.

Family Art Camp
(Ages 6–12)
Enjoy a week of family fun in the summer.

Family Festivals and Special Events

The Little Studio

Stop by the studio that's especially for the littlest artists!

Mini Masters

This program includes stories, games, a brief gallery visit, and a playful hands-on art activity.
